Privacy
As of October 2026. This translation is for convenience; the German version is legally binding.
1. Summary
This website has no tracking, no analytics and no ads. No cookies are set, and fonts are loaded from my own server, not from Google. I only process personal data when it is technically necessary, when you send me an enquiry or when you sign up for the newsletter.
2. Controller
Maximilian Imsiecke
Imsiecke Software
Borkumstraße 4
49661 Cloppenburg
Phone: 0152 31866466
Email: software@imsiecke.de
As a sole proprietor I am not required to appoint a data protection officer. Please send any questions about data protection directly to me.
3. Hosting
This website runs on a server that I operate and manage myself. No external hosting provider is involved, so data generated when you visit the site stays with me and is not passed on to a host.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is providing the website securely, quickly and reliably.
4. Server log files
With every visit, the server automatically stores some information your browser sends:
- IP address
- Date and time of access
- Page visited and previous page (referrer)
- Browser type, browser version and operating system
I need this data to deliver the site, find errors and fend off attacks. It is not combined with other data and is deleted after 7 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Encryption
The site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can tell by the padlock icon and “https://” in the address bar. Data you send through the contact form cannot be read by third parties.
6. Contact form
When you write to me through the form, I process your details (name, email address or phone number, topic and message) to answer your enquiry. My server forwards the message by email to my mailbox. The mailbox is hosted by iCloud, a service of Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Data may also be transferred to Apple Inc. in the USA. Apple is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the EU Commission has found an adequate level of data protection.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is aimed at an order, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is being able to answer enquiries.
I delete your details once the enquiry is settled and no order results from it. If an order is placed, I keep the records as long as tax and commercial law require (usually 6 to 10 years).
7. Newsletter
When you sign up for one of my newsletters (Imsiecke Software, Spottir Beta or Spottir News), I store your email address, the lists you chose and the time of sign-up and confirmation. Sign-up and sending run on listmonk on my own server (lists.liquidmagic.de). Like the contact form, listmonk sends the emails through Apple's iCloud Mail (see section 6).
The emails contain a small invisible image, and links go through my server. This shows me whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, which helps me understand what interests you. If you do not want this, you can turn off loading images in your email app or unsubscribe.
After signing up you will receive an email with a confirmation link. You are only subscribed once you click it (double opt-in), so nobody can sign you up without your knowledge.
The legal basis for the newsletter and its analysis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or with a short message to me. I will then remove your address from the list.
8. Enquiries by email or phone
If you contact me by email or phone, the same applies as for the contact form: I only process your details to handle your request and do not pass them on without your consent.
9. Fonts
The Barlow and JetBrains Mono fonts are hosted on my own server. Loading the page does not connect to Google or any other font provider.
10. Your rights
You have the right at any time to
- access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
- have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- receive your data in a common format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- withdraw consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
A short email to software@imsiecke.de is enough.
11. Right to object
If I process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). I will then stop processing the data unless there are compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
12. Right to lodge a complaint
You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority if you believe I am not processing your data lawfully. The authority responsible for me is:
Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen
Prinzenstraße 5
30159 Hannover, Germany
13. No automated decisions
I do not make decisions based solely on automated processing or profiling.
