Spottir is free. If you want to identify more, choose a bigger plan. Subscriptions run through your Apple ID and can be cancelled monthly.

Birds, mammals, insects, amphibians, plants, fungi and much more. Just take a photo, and Spottir tells you which species you're looking at.
No. Spottir works without signing up. Only if you want to add friends do you create a profile, with “Sign in with Apple”.
For identifying, yes, because the photos are analysed on the server. Your collection and all sightings are on your iPhone and available offline.
On your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, also in your private iCloud at Apple. I have no access to it. Photos you have identified are not stored on the server.
3 a day and 15 a month, with up to 100 sightings. A short video gets you one extra identification.
Yes. The Family plan works with Apple Family Sharing for up to 6 people. Everyone shares the identifications and collects without limits.
In iOS Settings under Apple ID and Subscriptions. You can restore a purchase on a new iPhone in Spottir under Settings.
